Call of Duty: WW2 players have been accidentally earning double XP since launch
Sledgehammer forgot to turn double XP off.
There's a reason why players have been racking up a lot of experience points since Call of Duty: WW2 released, and it's not just because of their time spent playing.
Via a post on Reddit, Sledgehammer's chief operating and development officer Michael Condrey has revealed that players have been unintentionally earning double XP since the game launched.
"We launched with 2XP active, unintentionally", Condrey says. "Everyone was getting 2XP since 11/3 and up until we made the playlist change late Thursday night, which effectively launched 3XP.
Come Monday, when we turn off the XP bonus, it will effectively revert to what we should have had at launch (aka 1XP).”
This means that early adopters of the latest CoD game have had a significant head start over new comers. Hopefully players won't feel too disheartened now that the experience gains have been tuned back down.
