A Spyro The Dragon Trilogy Remaster Is Coming To PS4 - Report
Have our wishes been granted?
Activision is reportedly working on remastering the original Spyro trilogy, similar to the treatment Crash Bandicoot received last year. The Nsane trilogy performed very well for Activision, its performance was praised and the publisher said that “surpassed our expectations by a wide margin”.
According to a new report, Activision is working on bringing life into the original Spyro games once more, which will be in the form of a remastered trilogy with new assets, animations, and a reworked save system. The games that are said to be included are Spyro The Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spyro: Year Of The Dragon. Vicarious Visions will be behind the remastering, much like they were with the Nsane Trilogy, and it'll launch with PS4 Pro support.
The report said that multiple sources have said that the Spyro Collection will be announced in March and released in Q3 at some point, with September being a possible release window due to the fact that it'll be the series' 20th anniversary.
We've previously reported that Crash Bandicoot Nsane Trilogy is coming to PC & Nintendo Switch after being a PS4 exclusive for a year. According to the report, there's a similar arrangement with Spyro, so we'll probably see the same thing happen.
As Activision hasn't announced this, it's worth taking this news with a pinch of salt until an official announcement.
