Latest PUBG PC Update Randomly Banning Players, Fix In The Works
Earlier today, PUBG Corp released a new patch for PC along with server maintenance, though there was no communication as to what it was going to do.
Later on, players took to Reddit and social media to complain that they had been banned from the game, many of whom claimed that they had never cheated. Puzzling.
Of course the complaints of a banned player are easy to ignore, however when this many reports are saying the exact same thing, it's pretty clear that something has gone pear shaped along the way.
PUBG Corp later confirmed that the sudden wave of banning is the result of a "detection logic bug" in today's update, which would explain the situation.
PC players, we are aware of a detection logic related bug that occurred after today's anti-cheat update and is temporarily preventing some players from accessing our game. Please accept our apologies. We are working on a fix as fast as we can.— PUBG Help (@PUBG_help) March 8, 2018
Hopefully this means that the ban messages that most players are seeing don't mean that their accounts have actually been banned, though to be on the safe side, it may be wise to not log in until this bug has been squished.
Have you been hit with a ban message today? Let us know!
