When You Go Idle In Tropical Freeze, Donkey Kong Plays On The Switch
That's pretty neat.
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is heading onto the Nintendo Switch this May, and it's got a little easter egg for you to admire (and perhaps chuckle at) on the new version.
If you leave the controller alone for a little while, Donkey Kong and his fellow companion plays on the Switch, which is pretty cool. Of course, the idle animation differs depending on which characters are on screen. Check 'em out in the video embedded above.
If DK is by himself, he starts up a game of Tropical Freeze (how meta). If Diddy is keeping him company, he joins in via co-op mode with the joycons. Dixie is a bit more mischievous by swiping the joy cons off DK to have a go. Last but not least Cranky Kong refuses to play and looks at DK in disgust as he reads his trusty newspaper. I absolutely love this attention to detail!
As well as the above, Tropical Freeze adds Funky Kong to the mix. This additional character provides players with an easier option to play, as Funky can double jump and hover, stay underwater without running out of air, and land on spikes without dying. Impressive. It's worth noting that he's only available in the new "Funky Mode" which provides co-op play.
How neat is this?! Will you be grabbing the Switch version of Tropical Freeze? Let us know below. I sure am!
